Meet Our Pastoral Couple:
Rev. Dr. Timothy Fisher and Pastor Beth Fisher
Since July 1997, I've had the pleasure of serving as pastor of Walkersville Community Church. Prior to this position, I served as associate pastor of a church in Frederick for almost seven years.
What is unusual about my journey is that my wife, Beth, and I both grew up in Walkersville and graduated from Walkersville High School. This was helpful in that we didn't have to learn the dynamics of a new community.
Beth and I are the parents of four grown children- Stephen, Jason, Chloe and Karis. Stephen and his wife, Liz, live locally and are parents to our two grandchildren. Jason and his wife, Megan, also live locally. Our daughter, Chloe, lives in Georgia and our daughter, Karis, lives in Texas.
In addition to our work at the church, I teach an online course in Biblical Interpretation for the Directed Study Program of the Brethren in Christ Church, U. S. I love teaching anything related to the Bible. This love of teaching and Biblical study led me to pursue and earn a D.Min. degree from Evangel Theological Seminary (Harrisonburg, VA) in 2013 and a Ph.D. from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary (Evansville, IN) in 2018.
Beth and I love to read broadly, exercise, root for Washington D.C. sports teams and spend quality time with family and friends. But enough about us, we'd like to meet you! Please be sure to introduce yourself when you come to the church for the first time!
Sincerely in Christ,
Pastor Tim
