THE SCOTT DAY BAND
Did you know we have two worship leaders in a local Christian band at WCC?! Scott Day leads the Scott Day Band as a singer, songwriter, and guitar player. I (Jess McClain) have had the pleasure of singing and writing in the band for the past 5 years. Here is a little bit about our mission.
From Scott:
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)
Have you ever thought about what it was like for Moses to stand on Mount Sinai in the very presence of God and speak to Him face to face? Well, according to the above scripture that’s what God wants for YOU. God is calling all His people to come into His presence. How do we get there? Psalm 100 gives us the answer to that question in verse 4, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” We are all called to enter His presence and the door is praise and worship.
My name is Scott Day and I’m on a mission to see people experience God’s presence in a way that maybe they never have before. Since He does move powerfully when His people praise Him, praise is something that needs to be expressed not just in a church building and not just on Sunday mornings but wherever and whenever we can express it.
In August of 2003 I released my first CD entitled “You Were There” which is just the first step in a constantly evolving plan of what God is calling me to do. Out of the experience of recording the CD The Scott Day Band came into existence. Since then we released a 2nd CD “Legacy Of Praise” and and in 2020 we released an EP titled: "Trust," which is available on Apple Music and Spotify as well as a CD on our website (or you can pick one up at church!).
We are always “knocking on doors” to see which ones the Lord opens up to us. So far we’ve played concerts in churches, in city parks and in Christian coffeehouses. Everywhere we’ve played we have been extremely encouraged by the comments of the people who have told us how God touched them.
We are so grateful for Scott Day and his mission to serve through music!
